I-Dent® Spray Marking System

The I-Dent® Spray Marking System from InfoSight Corporation offers a practical and cost effective alternative to manually stenciling products in an industrial environment.

The I-Dent® Marking System utilizes a non-contact multi-nozzle Printhead which is capable of producing a full range of upper case alphanumeric characters 3/4 to 6 inches high. System configurations are available to produce OCR (optical character recognition) characters and InfoSight Opticode® bar codes, allowing products to be marked for machine readable automatic identification.

I-Dent® Spray Marking Printheads are available in 7 and 9 nozzle versions. These can be combined to form a 16-nozzle array which will allow for a wide variety of dot-matrix fonts. Packaged in NEMA rated enclosures, the I-Dent® Marking System is designed for easy maintenance and high reliability in the most severe industrial environments.

Ink System

The ink system consists of two 2-liter bottles, a customer mounted ink/solvent control panel, and a MARK printhead. The ink/solvent control panel contains manually operated valves for mode selection, regulators and gauges. The maintenance control panel is provided for cleanup and maintenance functions.

Inks

A wide variety of inks are available to meet most marking applications. Specific inks and solvents have been developed for use with the InfoSight I-Dent® Spray Marking System. These products handle normal, oily and high temperature marking applications. Inks and solvents not approved by InfoSight may not be compatible with the I-Dent® Spray Marking System and are thus not recommended.

Printhead

The printhead is mounted directly over the product to be marked. The angle of the printhead relative to the product movement determines the character height. The dot size is controlled electronically to accommodate changes in viscosity or character size.

Encoder

An incremental optical encoder contacts the moving product material to provide velocity/position feedback to the I-Dent® Spray System electronics. Using this encoder allows the product to change speed during a print cycle without adversely effecting the print quality.
